Panattoni leads the way in bulwiengesa rankings

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics premises in Europe, has topped the bulwiengesa rankings for the first time as the most active developer of logistics premises on the German market in 2022. This ranking is part of the “Logistics and Real Estate 2022” study published by bulwiengesa, one of the largest independent analytics firms for the real estate industry in continental Europe.
For the first time, Panattoni took first place in the real estate completion ranking, having realised 1,999,072 m² of logistics premises between 2017 and 2022. This figure puts Panattoni over 500,000 m² ahead of the second-placed developer. Panattoni also leads the way in the pipeline ranking, successfully retaining first place with 1,823,400 m² of planned logistics space. This includes facilities currently in the planning stage as well as premises under construction. Panattoni also took top spot in the pipeline ranking in 2021.
By securing a leading position on the German market, the project developer has penned another chapter in its uninterrupted success story. Earlier this year, the company secured first place in the PropertyEU ranking of Europe’s largest logistics real estate developers for the sixth time in succession. The industry survey assessed the leading European developers based on the total surface area developed from 2019 to 2021. In the last two years, Panattoni has completed a total of 133 projects across Europe totalling 6,979,307 m² of logistics space, of which 1,317,585 m² is in urban areas.
“Following our success at the European level in recent years, we are delighted to have also been named the number one developer in the German logistics real estate segment for the first time. To date, Panattoni has successfully realised over 100 projects in Germany since entering the German market back in 2014. We are simultaneously focused on current and future requirements, and stand ready to assist our customers and partners with our knowledge and expertise in tackling the challenges of today and tomorrow. Alongside our commitment to work with local communities, sustainability in particular is an aspect that will play a vital role in the future,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni in Germany and Austria.
With this in mind, the developer is working to become compliant with all ESG aspects across Europe. Panattoni offers storage and production facilities with solutions that help to reduce CO₂ emissions, energy consumption and water consumption, support species conservation, and improve the well-being of employees working in the properties it builds – all as standard. In the medium term, the developer hopes to achieve carbon neutrality in all its projects.
Panattoni’s international growth includes the establishment of further locations across Europe in 2021/22, including in Sweden, Italy and Austria. In addition, the company made its debut on the Asian market in 2022 by opening branch offices in India.
